Xiaoyu Chen has won prizes in piano competitions, such as the the 11th Chinese Golden Bell Award for Music (2017, Third Prize and the Best Chinese Works Award), the 20th  Artur Schnabel International Piano Competition (2016, Second Prize) , the 4th Gulangyu National Piano Competition (2008, First Prize), Osaka International Piano Competition for Young Pianists (2003, Forth Prize) and 9th Xinghai National Piano Competition in Beijing (2002, First Prize).

 

She has performed in China, Germany, France and Japan and worked with the Shenzhen Symphony Orchestra, Xiamen Opera Symphony Orchestra, Guangzhou Symphony Orchestra, Sichuan Symphony Orchestra , Fuzhou Symphony Orchestra. She has participated in numerous International Music festivals, including in Beijing, Shanghai, Berlin, Goslar and Tignes.

 

She began her musical education at the age of 5 with Yansheng Qu and Dezhi Gao. From 1999 until 2005 she studied with Professor Xiaobai Lv and Quming Zhang in Shenyang Conservatory of Music Middle School. Since 2013, she has been a student of Professor Ying Wu at the Central Conservatory of Music in Beijing and she obtained her master degree in 

2012. She later furthered her studies at the Universitaet der Kunst Berlin in Germany with Tchaikovsky International Piano Competition Silver medallist Professor Pascal Devoyon. In 2016 she received her Konzertexsamen degree in piano performance. She was hired in 2018 by the Zhejiang Conservatory of Musicl and she is also the deputy director of artistic practice at the piano department.
